Job Description
|
Senior Structural Engineer required for a long term contract assignment in Lagos, Nigeria, with an international oil and gas EPC company.
Based in Lagos on a 10 week / 3 week rotation, the role will be to develop structural engineering works covering all packages of the project. This will include managing and leading a team of structural engineers.
Candidates should have the following experience and knowledge:
- Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification plus at least 4 to 5 years relevant experience in the offshore oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge in designing offshore structures (such as jackets, plets, manifolds, installation aids)
- Good knowledge of structural software such as NSO, SACS, Strucad.
- Able to perform hand calculations and to check calculation notes done by others
- Good knowledge of industry code and standards (such as API RP 2A, AISC, DnV)
- Capability to manage individuals within the project and interface with personnel both internal and external to the project
- Ability to motivate other members of project team to deliver project commitments
